Last night Mayor Sloan,Deputy Mayor Hunter & CAO Wildman announced the closure of the Cardinal & District Community Centre at the end of March 2012. They stated that the upgrades required ( Engineers Report ) indicate $1 million would be necessary to bring the arena up to standard.

This is a political decision that effects not just the physical well being of the residents of Cardinal but has economic repercussions to community as a whole. The aim of this petition is to ask that this decision be reconsidered and ALL other options be explored before yet another community asset is closed down.
